How do I use The Labor Loop?

Just pull on it! It is that easy. To use with a birth partner, each person simply grabs one end and you each pull, kind of like playing tug o' war. You can pull it as gently or hard as you feel comfortable with. To use by yourself, loop it around a sturdy object, say a door knob or birthing bar and pull. See list of how to use for more detailed instructions. *It is recommended that you pull with both hands with the label in between.

How does it work?

The Labor Loop works by allowing the woman in labor to use her own strength against the resistance of the stretchy band. This is what makes it so unique, where towels, sheets and blankets are less user friendly, and difficult to hold on to. The Labor Loop is easy to grasp and safe to hold on to, it is comfortable to hold and allows the user to customize it into numerous configurations.

Who can use it?

Anyone, even kids! Its primary purpose though, is to help women through labor and delivery. Beyond that, it has uses as an adult exercise tool and even as a children's toy. Kids of all ages love to pull on it and play tug o' war. *Please use adult supervision when allowing children to play with it.

What are the benefits of using The Labor Loop?

The Labor Loop not only helps you manage the pain and discomfort of contractions, it helps you to push your baby out more efficiently by making your pushes more effective when you use your own force while you pull on the loop. This is key when you have an epidural or drug assisted birth since certain drugs can hinder the urge to push. A c-section can be avoided when you are pushing properly and efficiently because the delivery phase can be made shorter and safer for the baby.

Can I use it if I have an epidural?

Absolutely. The Labor Loop is perfect for moms using an epidural or any type of pain relief they may choose and of course, drug free. It helps the women in labor focus her pushes which can be hard to do with an epidural since mom may feel less of an urge to push. She can have a more productive delivery and a better likelihood of avoiding a vacuum or forceps delivery and c-section.

Benefits for avoiding a c-section:

Better bonding with baby

Shorter hospital stay

Faster recovery time

General sense of satisfaction of a vaginal birth for certain women
